Piglets

After spending a few days turning the calf bedding with the boar our 3 sows moved next door to settle into their farrowing quarters.

We set up four nesting areas so they could choose their own birthing spot and let them continue to hang out together while they waited for their day to come. Meanwhile, they enjoyed their outdoor amenities.

After sleeping alone for a few days the first sow started to get serious about making her nest, carefully rearranging the bedding we provided. By the next morning she looked quite content with her seven new piglets at her side.

Meanwhile, her sisters are still waiting their turn.
