We've been helping the neighbors with maple syruping again this year, and just as I was planning to walk over to empty the sap buckets the phone rang. It was so warm the sap just wasn't running today.
But a day that's too warm for sap is perfect for working on the fence. Every spring I walk the perimeter of the pastures checking the electric fence that keeps the livestock in and predators out. I replace any missing yellow insulators, remove fallen branches and trim back the trees that are trying to encroach.
On a day like today it makes for a really nice walk.
The dogs came along and didn't even know we were working.
