Organic Inspirations

Rich and I spent the weekend in LaCrosse, WI at the country's biggest (and best!) organic farming conference where we enjoyed workshops ranging from homeopathy to forage production.

Curt Ellis, one of the creators of the film King Corn, gave a fantastic keynote presentation about Food Corps, a new organization he co-founded to address some of the issues raised in the film including nutrition, obesity and access to healthy food.
As if that weren't enough we are also benefitting from the MOSES mentorship program and have been paired with their 2009 Organic Farm Family of the Year, James, Tom and Irene Frantzen. I spent 3 days visiting the Frantzens at their farm in Iowa last week and came back filled with new ideas that we can begin to apply to our own farm.
It's exciting to be part of a farming community with such a wealth of resources, energy and creativity!
