We got two reports of a bear in our pastures yesterday. A young one, with no mother in sight. One neighbor saw it roaming a paddock in a confused sort of way before heading back into the wetland for cover. Was that loud roar I heard out moving cattle yesterday afternoon an unhappy mama, or just the roaring honk of some machine? I hope they're able to sort things out--preferably before developing a hunger for the taste of fresh chicken.
