Orchid!

For several days I'd been noticing an unusual plant in one of the pastures we've yet to graze, glimpsing it out of the corner of my eye as I hurried down the lane to move fences. Finally, when my mom was visiting I suggested we go take a look at it knowing how knowledgeable she's become over her years of hiking our National Parks.

She declared it an orchid and after scouring the field guides and the internet we've settled on calling it a Ragged Fringed Orchid. Once we started looking we found several more and hurried to protect them from the herd's careless hooves--and muzzles?
