The cattle are really enjoying the grass that the rain is providing. I'm moving their fence twice a day now to make the most of the fresh growth. You can really see the dent they make in the pasture they are given. There is a distinct line where the fence was before I moved it and took this photo--almost as if it had been mowed. Their even grazing improves the pastures by reducing weeds and promoting uniform growth. Next time they visit this paddock they'll find a lush and tasty sward with similarly mature plants rather than a patchy field with areas of "stemy" overgrown plants that have gone to seed. They will reap the benefits of cleaning their plate this time around.
